The club is obviously contemplating changing the advance booking system, i.e. taking deposits etc. To complete the survey, log in on the club's web site, and go My-Club/CXlub-matters.

Its about time.
I'm pig sick of not getting into a site because of block bookers booking sites for the full year and not turning up for half of the dates :'(

just filled in the survey. how do you know for certain that they are no shows as there are no figures displayed from CC as to the ratio of no shows?

1st off the caravan club are not going to give away to much info on no shows :o
How do I know there are no shows, well if I tried to book on the website and it said the site was full and then phone the site direct a few days before I want to go and the site is not full, that tells me there are no shows. The wardens have also told me this happens on popular sites
I have also had conversations with members who have told me that they block book, all bank holidays and loads of weekends and have no intention of going on all the dates they have booked :-\
Another important point, why is the caravan club carrying out the survey in the 1st place if there were no issues???
Why are people reluctant to pay a deposit ::)
If you want to go away for the weekend and pay a deposit of say £25, whats the problem with that? its less money to pay when you get there, that is if you intend to go in the 1st place :'(
I think the block bookers do not want to pay deposits because they are self centred, selfish b*****ds who are only interested in them selfs, yes it would cost them money too.
;)

i actually agree with you on all counts i dont have a problem paying a deposit as if you go to a Haven type site you would expect to pay up front before your trip.
but its good to rattle your cage sometimes ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
