Hello,

We met some of the Amigos at Corwall Harlyn sands recently.A really great week. Dave Mud gave me one his flyer's for the web site.

My wife and 2 kids live in Bromsgrove I'm a Engineer for Ford Motor Company my wife works in a school. We decided to buy a Caravan last year after being fed up of camping. We opted for a Bailey Ranger GT60 540-6. I tow with a 2.0 TDCI Mondeo Estate. Its a company car so this seemed the best match for a van.

We have had some great trips year and my 2 kids are really enjoying every where we go.In light of Muzzs accident we are now debating on buying the ALKO ATC system,we are off to France  near Bordeaux the end of August and are a little shocked at his accident.

Is it worth buying the ATC system??

Any advice would be appreciated,
All the Best

Steve V

Hi Steve and welcome icon_thumleft

I'm glad to see you and your family are enjoying the caravan and hope you have a great trip to Bordeaux.

I have no experience of the ATC system but I believe Terry has a similar one on his van. Anything that improves the safety of towing sound great and if you can afford it go for it.

But don't forget the main things like correct tyre pressure and loading etc.

Hi ya Steve

gr8 to see u found us ok  hello2 hello2 hello2

Would not spend the money on the Alko ASC system we have towed for nearly 20years with out a problem
with a good weight caravan to car ratio and not overloading the caravan keep at a steady pace you should be
fine, keep the hitch stabilizer in a good a clean condition as well as keeping the tow-ball clean and grease free
that should help keep the van in check and remember on down long down hills keep the speed under control
that's when most snakes occur and accidents happen

Hi Steve, welcome to the club.

My van has ATS, but I can't say whether its been in operation embarrassed hope not 017

Do all the things others have said and make sure you keep heavy items like awning etc over the axle 13
