The London Caravan & Camping Show, organised by VOS Media, runs at Excel from 11th to 13th February 2011. The organisers say that the event will give South-eastern and London-based visitors their first local opportunity to see new 2011 caravans, motor homes, folding caravans, trailer tents, awnings, tents and camping accessories, tow cars and 4×4’s.
25,000 visitors are expected to the show which will be built over 27,000 square metres of indoor halls.
Gary Barbe, Show Director said “We are delighted to be bringing a caravan and camping show back to London. February is the perfect time to attract an audience of existing caravanners who are looking forward to the new season and to promote the show to the next generation of campers. ExCeL is easily accessible to the entire South East region from Cambridge to Brighton and all around Greater London, with excellent motorway and train access.”
On site camping facilities will be available and outside space will also be used for features such as caravan and motor home manoeuvring lessons. There’ll also be an accessory superstore and exhibitors representing thousands of campsites will be on hand to help plan trips in the UK and overseas 2011.
The show will incorporate The London Park Home Show which will be displaying all the latest Park Homes, Holiday Homes and Lodges and the parks on which they are available.
London has been without a specific show since Ocean Media axed its event after its November 2006 outing at Excel, while rivals Clarion last organised a London show in November 2005. The major organisers have always seen it as a difficult area in which to stage major events.
In 2006 an Ocean Media spokesman said: “In the two years that we staged a national London show it grew by 50%. But commercially it proved difficult. The exhibitors just couldn’t stomach the prices that we had to charge.”
